The first time I used this goal setting process and realized how powerful it is was in 2015.
At the time, I was hugely pregnant with my second daughter, Reagan. I was going to a corporate office every day and making a 5-figure salary.
My husband worked as a Physical Therapist and had a shitty schedule with zero flexibility.
My car sounded like a cat in a blender when I put it in reverse. I had lots of credit card debt and approximately $0 in my savings account.
But I sat down and made a “2015 Dreams List” anyway.
It included things like:
- Huge Pool with gorgeous patio
- No credit card debt
- $100K in my savings account
- Brand new Tahoe
- Find a way for Keith to have more flexibility in his career
- Go to yoga 3x a week
- Multiple streams of 6-figure income
- Take an annual couple's trip
When I was making this list I vividly remember thinking that some of these things were INSANE.
The brand new Tahoe was a STRETCH.
My husband somehow changing careers to be able to be home for dinner? Yeah right, we were still paying off his loans from Physical Therapy school!
Going to yoga 3x per week? When? I barely had time to shower.
Getting a pool? $100K in my savings account? Sure, maybe when we hit the lottery!
When I made this list, I had no clue how any of this stuff would happen.
